Do I have to cosplay in order to attend?
Not at all! While we love seeing all the amazing costumes, cosplay is completely optional. Plenty of attendees come in regular clothes just to enjoy the panels, contests, shopping, and all the fun.

What age group is the event for?
Cosplay World is family-friendly and open to all ages. We’ve got activities for kids, adults, and everyone in between. Some after-hours events may have age restrictions, but those will always be clearly marked.

Where is the event located?
Cosplay World takes place at the Greater Richmond Convention Center in Richmond, VA. Full address and directions are available on our Location page.

What are the event hours?
The fun begins at 10:30 AM each day! On Saturday, we’ll be open until 6:00 PM, and on Sunday until 5:00 PM.

Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes, as long as the event isn’t sold out. We do recommend buying in advance online — it saves you time at check-in and guarantees your spot.

How do I pick up my badge?
Bring your ticket confirmation (printed or on your phone) to registration. Our staff will check you in and give you your badge, which you’ll need to wear throughout the event.

Can I get my badge mailed to me?
Yes! If you purchase certain ticket types early enough, you can choose the mail-out option at checkout. It’s a great way to skip the registration line.

Do kids need tickets?

Are there rules for props and weapons?
Yes, safety comes first. All props need to be checked and peace-bonded at registration. No real weapons, sharp blades, or working projectile items are allowed.

Will there be changing areas?
Yes, there will be designated areas inside the venue for changing or adjusting your costume.

Yes! We’ll be announcing guests on our website and social media as the event gets closer, so keep an eye out for updates.

Is outside food allowed?
Policies on outside food and drink are set by the venue. Please check the Greater Richmond Convention Center’s rules before bringing anything in.

Is parking available?
Yes. The convention center has parking options, and there are plenty of nearby lots as well.
